Climate Conversations: Climate Change in North Kingstown In-Person
Coastal flooding is more and more frequent in Wickford and other areas while intense storms are over-taxing our stormwater systems. This lecture will introduce how we can make sense of climate data in our daily lives, and how RI’s state offices and municipalities are using this information to guide decision-making, allocation of funding, and leveraging partnerships to advance local projects.
Presented by Teresa Crean. Director of Planning, Building and Resiliency, Town of Barrington and NK resident since 2015
This fall, the North Kingstown Free Library will host a photo exhibit, book display and lecture series called Climate Conversations. The goal is to foster dialog and community engagement in planning for a future disrupted by climate change. The four lectures will be held at 6:30 PM at the library on September 19, October 3, 10 and 17 and will highlight how climate change is impacting southern Rhode Island and describe how residents can prepare for climate impacts.
