What's the Story Behind the Cranstons? presented by Tim Cranston In-Person
The third largest city in Rhode Island is named Cranston, there are streets named Cranston in Cranston, Providence, Newport, and North Kingstown. There’s a playground in North Kingstown named after a Cranston. So, what’s so special about the name Cranston. Join Tim Cranston as he explores the story of his ancestors. Learn about the critical contributions of two early colonial governors named Cranston to the history of Rhode Island, and on a more local note, the stories behind some North Kingstown Cranston’s who loomed large in our town history. In addition to this discussion, there will be a display of Cranston ephemera and memorabilia in the library’s display cases.
