Part I – Blitzkrieg – Battles of Poland and France, 1939-40 – Wednesday, 22 January 2020 2018

The lecture covers the outbreak and first few months of World War II in Europe as German forces rolled over Poland is just weeks.  After a winter whereby the major action occurred at sea rather on the Western Front with France, called “The Phony War,” German forces attacked the Low Countries of Belgium and the Netherlands and in a month, defeated both France and Great Britain in the Battle of France – May-June, 1940 - in what came to be a “blitzkrieg.”
